I thought I would post a picture today since it's been a while...or never! This is Brenley, Landon and grandpa Tom (my dad). He and grandma Colleen (my step-mom) came for a visit a couple weeks ago. They love their grandpa Tom! They lives 45 minutes across town so you would think we'd see them more often but unfortunately we're all so busy that it doesn't happen as often as we'd like. But when we do get to visit with each other it is really fun and memorable:)

White Castle update...

We did not go to White Castle...and I'm not sad about it. We ended up at Panera Bread for dinner. Have you tried their vegetarian Creamy Tomato Soup yet? It is out of this world! They serve it with Asiago cheese croutons...it really is a great soup if you like tomato. I paired it with half a tuna salad sandwich which was also great. Then to top off our somewhat healthy meal we headed down to the ol' Dairy Queen for dessert...I had a strawberry sundae and my hubby had an Oreo blizzard. Then of all places we went to Walmart...sadly we really did that...on Valentine's Day!

Thursday's are our normal babysitter night so we really didn't do anything different but that's ok because we enjoyed each other and had a fun time! I'm glad I don't have stomach cramps and could make it in to work today but I do wonder how it went down at the White Castle...guess I'll never know (this year). Hope all of you had a good one too and spent quality time with loved ones.

For Valentine's Day I would like...

to make dinner reservations at White Castle so my hubby and I can indulge on the stomach cramp inducing food that we never treat ourselves to. Seriously, I didn't have my camera with me to take a picture of it but the marquee in front of the White Castle by my work reads "Make your Valentine's Day dinner reservations now, call XXX-XXXX". I wonder if there will be tablecloths and candle light? Maybe some soft music playing over the drive thru intercom...I don't know but I'll be sure to fill you all in on Friday (if i'm not cramping up and stuck in the bathroom...if you know what I mean)!!!!

The world has come to this...

We took the kids to see Santa on Wednesday at our local mall. The experience was fun I suppose. My husband stood in line while I chased the children from one gigantic toy to another to occupy the time (45 minutes). That isn't bad considering it is so close to Christmas day. When it was finally our turn, we approached Santa, my daughter uncharacteristacally gave Santa a huge hug and sat on his lap like she's know him forever. We sat the little guy down, he did ok too. They talked for a couple seconds then we got off the lap, picked out a photo, paid and moved on. Luckily we had parked illegally right in front of Santa's house so we were in the car in no time. This is when we had this conversation:
Brenley: Mommy, he didn't say Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas
Mommy: (thinks for a second, looks at daddy, nods in agreement) No he didn't, did he?
Brenley: Why?
Mommy: He wasn't feeling well, he ate too many cookies perhaps...
The end.
So the next morning I email everyone the cute little picture we took and tell the story, etc. I get a reply from my mom saying "they aren't allowed to say ho anymore becuase it might offend someone". PLEASE!

Babysitter night...with a twist!

Ok, so usually on Thursdays, my husband and I get a babysitter and go on a date. This usually consists of going to dinner and then grocery shopping (yeah I know), other fun shopping or simply browsing. We only have two hours and it goes by fast! But last night, my hubby was out of town so I got to go to dinner with my sweet friend Ellen! The time went by fast with her too but I really enjoyed her company. I wish I could swap 2 dates a month with my hubby to go with her instead (did I say that?)!! Thanks again for a lovely evening of eating, chatting and venting!!!!

What's in a name?

I named my blog after my two kids (ok so most of you probably figured that out by now). From the moment I laid eyes on my daughter, Brenley, now 3 I have called her sweet girl. It is the first thing that came to me when I saw her so I said it to her and it just stuck! So needless to say when my son, Landon, now 1.5 was born, it was only natural for me to call him sweet boy. And oh is he...he's one of a kind and such a fun little guy:)
